Death of a Fish

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

In this classic program, Fred Rogers helps young children understand about death when he finds a dead fish in his aquarium. After burying the fish, he talks about the feelings he had as a child when his dog died. Caringly and reassuringly, he lets children know that memories can be comforting and that it can be especially helpful to talk about our feelings with people who care about us.
