Staying true to the vision of Fred Rogers, and emulating the guiding principles of his life’s work, the mission of the Fred Rogers Center is to advance the fields of early learning and children’s media by acting as a catalyst for communication, collaboration, and creative change. Established in 2003 following a planning process guided by Fred Rogers’ vision and interests, the Center aims to be a national and international resource for addressing emerging issues affecting children from birth through age 5. From its early beginning, the Center has worked in close collaboration with The Fred Rogers Company.
The Fred Rogers Company was founded (as Family Communications, Inc.) by Fred Rogers in 1971 to produce Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, the longest-running program on public television. Today, The Fred Rogers Company continues that legacy by developing new television programming and working in a variety of other media to promote children’s social and emotional development and to support teachers, other professionals, parents and caregivers in their work with young children.
The Fred Rogers Center acknowledges and appreciates the contributions that The Fred Rogers Company made to this exhibit.
